Real Club Deportivo Espanyol de Barcelona
Trina Solar will supply photovoltaic (PV) modules for a new stadium being built by the Spanish Premier League football team Real Club Deportivo Espanyol de Barcelona Under this agreement, Trina Solar will supply Espanyol with 500 kW of PV modules for the construction of a roof-top PV installation for the club's new stadium in Barcelona, which is scheduled for completion in late 2008. Trina Solar will become an official sponsor with its logo placed on the team's official game and practice jerseys for the next three seasons, extending through July of 2011. The Company's marketing rights also include logo placements at various high exposure areas throughout the planned 40,000 seat stadium and rooftop, which has been called "the most modern stadium in Spain."

Lisa Airplanes
Trina Solar will supply Lisa Airplanes with almost 300 photovoltaic cells for the assembly of this hybrid airplane, the solar PV cells on the wings and horizontal tail of the plane will supply sufficient energy for takeoff and on-board power supply. Apart from this, the plane will be propelled by an electric engine, more silent and more effective at high altitude than heat engines. Hy-Bird, a solar and hydrogen powered airplane that is set to be the first to fly around the world using only renewable energies as fuel.
Lisa Airplanes has already produced a scale model and expects to complete assembly of the real plane by the end of 2009. Lisa Airplanes expects then to make a series of full-scale test runs and introduce the Hy-Bird project, its technologies, its values and its partners in several countries where interest in renewable energies is growing rapidly. The Hy-Bird is expected to take off for its round-the-world flight, from West to East, through various stages of approximately 1500 kilometers. |
