Intersolar 2014: Trina Solar presents smart solutions for rooftop solar systems


Market demands high-performance and cost-efficient PV products

Munich, 19th of May 2014 - Trina Solar Limited (TSL), a global leader in photovoltaic modules, solutions, and services, will be presenting its products and solutions for rooftop PV systems at its booth (Hall A1.290) at this year’s Intersolar Europe. This includes a special feature of the integrated power optimiser Trinasmart, as well as the high-performance Honey M module series and the Quadmax module with its smaller format. Moreover, Trina Solar will grant insight into its latest research and development highlights, including both its world record Honey Ultra module and the high efficiency interdigitated back contact solar cell, which Trina Solar only recently reported.

Profitability and efficiency are key priorities for the PV industry, particularly in light of declining incentive schemes. Consequently, Trina Solar’s products and services address these requirements. Trinasmart, for example, allows for the automatic monitoring and management of PV systems at module level, while maximising output with a module-integrated optimiser and enabling first-class fire protection. Installers benefit from fast and easy installation as well as full flexibility at the time of selecting an inverter; all this supports their business. In combination with its Honey M and Quadmax modules, Trina Solar offers a cost-efficient and high-performance product portfolio particularly well-suited for rooftop solar systems. 

DC05A Honey M modules are characterised by their high performance, even under low light conditions, and are an aesthetic fit for residential roofs. They are available with either a white or a black back sheet. The square cells of the DC80.08 Quadmax modules maximise the module’s energy generating surface by 8% over conventional mono modules, increasing the total output of the modules. At the same time, its smaller dimensions allow optimum use of precious roof space.

Additionally, the Dual Glass module TSM-PDG5, with its robust frameless design, is another part of Trina Solar’s product portfolio. Thanks to its durability Trina Solar offers an extended 30-year linear power warranty with this product.

Besides the company’s current product portfolio, Chief Scientist Pierre Verlinden will also present the latest innovations, developed by Trina Solar’s State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology. This includes the new high-efficiency Honey Ultra module, which is based on Trina Solar’s Honey technology and has achieved a world record performance of 326.3W, documented by TÜV Rheinland. In cooperation with the Australian National University (ANU) and the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), Trina Solar has also developed a highly-efficient interdigitated back contact silicon solar cell which has delivered an efficiency of 24.4%, putting it among the most efficient solar cells to date.
