California Energy Commission finds that Trina Panels are #1 in PTC/STC
ratio among major PV manufacturers

In a head-to-head comparison of PV modules made by leading manufacturers, the California Energy Commission found that Trina Solar modules had the highest PTC to STC performance ratio. This head-to-head comparison of 60-cell modules of major manufacturers validates Trina Solar’s pride in excellent field performance.

PTC and STC are two different testing conditions. While PV manufacturers use Standard Test Conditions (STC) to rate products, PVUSA Test Conditions (PTC) was developed to test and compare PV systems as part of the PVUSA (Photovoltaics for Utility Scale Applications) project, which was undertaken by a partnership between the US Department of Energy and several major utilities. Because PTC conditions better reflect real world solar and climatic conditions, PTC ratings are more realistic and valuable measures for consumers than STC ratings. A high PTC to STC rating is a strong affirmation of high panel quality and reliability.

The superior performance of Trina Solar modules on the field has also been confirmed by excellent results at Desert Knowledge Australia’s Solar Knowledge center, as well as reports of over performance at installations around the world. This is made possible by our dedication to producing quality products powered by the most advanced solar photovoltaic technologies. Learn more about our commitment to quality.

With the CEC ranking ranking, Trina Solar has now been ranked #1 by respected 3rd parties in three very critical areas:
