Bifacial module technology will be dominant globally very soon. However there are some challenges associated to bifacial system design, such as calculating the additional power from the module’s rear side.
This guidebook provides a clear view on the successful implementation of bifacial technology, maximizing performance and minimizing LCoE. Starting with basic principles of this technology, we take a closer look at its impact on key components: modules, mounting systems including trackers, and inverters. We also show key parameters for designing bifacial PV systems. Moreover, we showcase several real field tests and cases studies in order to measure real improvements at different locations. The results will also be highlighted in this detailed guidebook.
In the end, we will come to clear recommendations regarding the ideal system configuration in different application scenarios, maximizing the internal rate of return (IRR) of the bifacial solar PV power plant.
