TrinaTracker Brasil to Supply Smart Tracking Systems for CGN Brasil’s Lagoa do Barro Solar Project in Piauí
TrinaTracker, a leading provider of solar tracking solutions, has signed an agreement with CGN Brasil to supply smart tracking system for the Lagoa do Barro solar complex in the state of Piauí. The collaboration represents an important step in strengthening Brazil’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Under the agreement, TrinaTracker will deliver 1,083 Vanguard 1P trackers. Once operational, the complex will have an installed capacity of 56.11 MWp, supplying clean electricity to the grid.
The Vanguard 1P—TrinaTracker’s latest generation of solar trackers—features the proprietary SuperTrack Smart Tracking algorithm, designed to maximize energy output under diverse terrain and weather conditions. Using three-dimensional topographic modeling and real-time solar irradiation analysis, the system automatically adjusts the module angle throughout the day to improve efficiency.
The Lagoa do Barro plant will combine solar and wind generation to help power the São Paulo Metro, demonstrating the integration of multiple renewable sources in urban energy supply. Over its first 15 years of operation, the project is expected to avoid more than 200,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, supporting Brazil’s climate and sustainability goals.
TrinaTracker Brasil will provide end-to-end support, including commissioning services, training for operations and maintenance, and dedicated after-sales service. The company is also implementing a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) model, taking responsibility for manufacturing, maritime transport, customs clearance, and delivery to the project site. This approach is designed to simplify logistics and ensure timely delivery for CGN Brasil.
Camila Carvalho, Head of Sales at TrinaTracker Brasil, said:
“This partnership with CGN Brasil strengthens our position in the Brazilian market and reflects our commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance solutions. We are proud to contribute to the country’s energy transition with advanced technology and local expertise.”
Yao Zhigang, President and CEO of CGN Brasil, added:
“Collaborations of this kind are vital to expanding renewable energy in Brazil. With the support of technology partners like TrinaTracker, we are advancing our long-term commitment to building a sustainable and resilient energy system.”
Looking ahead, TrinaTracker will continue to expand its presence in Latin America and beyond, providing advanced technologies and reliable services to accelerate renewable energy adoption worldwide. From August 26–28, 2025, TrinaTracker will showcase its latest tracking system solutions at Intersolar South America in São Paulo (Booth W4.31), engaging with global partners to explore opportunities in Latin America’s fast-growing renewable sector.
