Ukranian company Eco-Optima is focused on the development and application of renewable, eco-friendly energy sources and in June 2015 commissioned this 4 MW project expansion at the Sambir Solar Station 2 in the district of Lviv. Eco-Optima selected 15444 multicrystalline DUOMAX 260 W modules by Trina Solar to be installed in two phases. The first phase was connected to the grid in February 2016 and the second in March 2016. Replacing power previously generated by coal-powered thermal plants the photovoltaic solar system will help to avoid about 2823 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The harsh environment and cold winters made durabiliy and reliability just as important as a high yield value. Trina Solar's DUOMAX PEGS 260W is a multicrystalline 60 cell module and is ideal for large-scale projects. Its high power footprint reduces installation time and BOS costs. Being extremely reliable and durable it can withstand 2400 PA wind and 5400 PA snow loads plus 35mm hailstones at 97 km/h and has a  coating makes it resistant to sand, acid and alkali. It is IEC and ISO certified and its increased module robustness minimizes micro-cracks. With a 30-year linear power warranty it offers 16.4% maximum efficiency.
