Trinasolar Delivers Full-Scope Solar + Storage System for Raba Park in Estonia with Sunly
2025.12.18

Trinasolar, a global leader in PV and smart energy solutions, has announced the successful signing of a new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) contract with leading Estonian energy company Sunly for the Raba Solar Park. This latest milestone builds on Trinasolar’s earlier delivery of high-performance PV modules and mounting systems to the same site, making Raba Park one of the largest co-located solar + storage installations in the Baltic region.

The 21 MW / 42 MWh BESS will be delivered by Trina Storage, a business unit of Trinasolar, and is based on its proven Elementa 2 platform. The system will be delivered as a complete AC-coupled solution including 12 x Elementa 2 battery cabinets, 6 x 4.4 MVA PCS units and the Power Plant Controller

The nameplate capacity of the system is 48.88 MWh, with deliveries scheduled for late 2025. The addition of storage will allow Sunly to enhance flexibility, provide grid support, and optimize energy dispatch at the site, in line with Estonia’s growing need for grid stability and renewable integration.

“We are proud to expand our collaboration with Sunly by delivering not just the solar PV side of the Raba project, but now also the battery energy storage system, which will improve the economics of the project considerably” said Gonzalo de la Viña, President Trinasolar Europe and Latin America. “This project is a true showcase of Trina’s end-to-end capabilities in full-solution delivery, and it reflects our leadership and strong commitment to supporting the Baltics in their clean energy transition.”

This reinforces Trina Storage’s entry into the Baltics BESS market, further strengthening the company’s European footprint following recent wins in Lithuania, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Greece, and Romania. The new contract with Sunly also includes a 16-year Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) covering full preventive and corrective maintenance as well as performance guarantees, ensuring long-term system reliability and availability.

The Raba Solar Park has already attracted attention as a model co-located deployment, combining Trinasolar’s Vertex PV modules, FixOrigin mounting systems, and now Elementa 2 BESS technology— all supplied by one integrated provider.
