Floating solar power in Drenthe, Netherlands

The Netterden Group has strengthened its sustainability credentials with a new floating solar installation in Ellertshaar, Drenthe, supplying clean energy directly to its local sand extraction operations. The project, delivered by Solinoor and featuring Trinasolar’s Vertex N modules, showcases how innovative solar solutions can meet industrial energy needs while supporting local initiatives.

The floating solar park comprises 1.5 MW of Vertex N modules, generating a significant proportion of the Netterden Group’s electricity requirements. With advanced smart power control technology installed and monitored by Solinoor, the system delivers energy directly to the end user without exporting it to the grid, maximising efficiency and self-consumption.

This project demonstrates the potential of floating solar technology to expand renewable energy in areas with limited land availability. By combining high-performance Trinasolar modules with intelligent energy management, the installation provides reliable power while contributing to local sustainability goals.
