RAP Waste Disposal Centre
Palermo, Italy
CommercialA major waste management site in Palermo has strengthened its sustainability efforts with a new rooftop photovoltaic system designed and installed by B.F.L. Impianti Tecnologici. Located at the RAP – Risorse Ambiente Palermo facility, the project highlights how solar power can support essential public services in reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
The installation features 452 Trinasolar Vertex S+ 500 W+ modules, supplied by Krannich Solar, delivering a total capacity of 200 kWp. The system is connected for on-site self-consumption and is expected to produce around 350,000 kWh of clean electricity per year, powering the facility’s activities while reducing reliance on grid electricity.
By combining high-efficiency Trinasolar technology with expert engineering and installation, the project demonstrates how public and industrial facilities can maximise rooftop space to unlock meaningful energy savings. It also contributes to Palermo’s wider transition towards renewable energy, supporting climate goals and reducing the environmental footprint of local waste operations.
