Two decades ago, Trinasolar set out to bring clean, reliable solar energy to Europe. As the technology matured and the market expanded, so did we, growing together with the customers, partners and communities that make up Europe's clean energy story.

What began as a handful of partnerships has grown into a presence across more than 20 European countries, with local teams who understand the markets, regulations and communities they serve. Behind every project are over 250 people working from 10 regional offices, from the UK to Spain to Switzerland. Our network of 170+ distributors brings solar expertise directly to residential and C&I customers, while at utility scale, we work hand in hand with EPCs and developers across the continent to bring projects to life.

This anniversary isn't only about looking back at where we've come from. It's a chance to recognise the partners, teams and projects that got us here, and the shared path ahead as we keep growing together toward a cleaner energy future for Europe.

Two decades of growth

Our story in Europe has been one of steady, deliberate growth, building the local presence and expertise that define how we operate here today, and expanding well beyond modules into new areas of our business. In 2018, we acquired Spain's Nclave, laying the foundation for TrinaTracker and establishing our European manufacturing and R&D presence in Viana. Three years later, Trina Storage launched in Europe, with our first grid-scale energy storage project in the UK.

Across Europe, this growth translates into more than 77 GW+ of PV modules, 9 GW of mounting systems and 4.4 GWh+ of energy storage systems shipped to date*, powering homes, businesses and communities across the continent.

One company, three solutions working together

We offer modules, mounting structures and storage, backed by local teams who can support customers at every stage of a project. Increasingly, we're also bringing them together as fully integrated solutions on select projects, combining technologies from a single source. Here's how each part of that offering has evolved over the past 20 years.

Modules

Solar modules have changed enormously over the past 20 years, and so have we. The Vertex platform first introduced larger-format, high-power modules to the market, backed by an early commitment to TOPCon technology that has since become an industry standard. That was followed by the shift to n type i-TOPCon cell technology and the launch of the Vertex N generation. Bringing that same platform to Europe's rooftops, Vertex S was designed specifically to adapt Vertex's larger-format technology to the needs of the region's residential and C&I market. Today's Vertex N G3 and Vertex S+ G3 build on that foundation with i-TOPCon Ultra, delivering higher efficiency and bifaciality, an improved temperature coefficient and lower degradation over time. For our customers across Europe, that means more energy generated over the lifetime of every project.

Mounting systems

What started with the 2018 acquisition of Nclave has grown into TrinaTracker, a full mounting and tracking business built on two decades of engineering experience. Our portfolio now spans Vanguard 1P and Vanguard 2P trackers alongside the FixOrigin fixed-tilt structure and the terrain-adapting Terrain+ system, supported by SuperTrack smart tracking algorithms that adjust in real time to site conditions and maximise energy capture. Together, they've evolved to help projects succeed on increasingly complex and demanding sites across Europe.

BESS

Since launching its energy storage business in 2015 and expanding internationally in 2021, Trina Storage has rapidly grown its presence across Europe. Its offering has evolved from battery storage systems to an increasingly integrated battery-to-grid platform, with Elementa 3 providing up to 6.25 MWh of DC storage alongside the Electra 13.8 AC solution. Today, Trina Storage is supporting a growing portfolio of utility-scale projects across Europe, from the UK and Germany to the Nordics, Baltics, Eastern Europe and Southern Europe.
Services that go beyond technology

Beyond the technology itself, our European offering has also expanded to include services that support customers throughout the project lifecycle, from design and engineering through commissioning, operations and long-term performance optimisation. It's this combination of proven technology and local, hands-on support that has become one of the defining parts of how we work in Europe.

Stories from across Europe

Behind these numbers are real projects that bring our modules, mounting structures, storage and services together. Here are a few that show the breadth of what that looks like in practice.

• Sandon Brook, UK: a 49.9 MW colocated solar and storage project in Essex, developed with Low Carbon, and Trinasolar's first project to combine modules, mounting structures and energy storage from a single source at the same site. Almost 80,000 Vertex N bifacial modules are mounted on more than 1,100 mounting structures, paired with a 70 MWh Trina Storage Elementa system across 36 cabinets. This produces enough clean power for over 16,500 homes and avoids almost 2,000 tons of CO2 each year, a clear demonstration of what a fully integrated Trinasolar solution looks like on the ground.
• Pepperhill Solar Farm, UK: a 23 MW utility-scale project in the West Midlands, powered by Vertex N modules on a 2P FixOrigin bipost structure. Clay-rich, shrink-swell soil across the site called for a flexible foundation strategy combining predrilling and direct piling, adapted field by field to keep the structure stable long-term. Delivered on time and on budget with Elmya, the project avoids around 4,700 tonnes of CO2 a year, equivalent to taking over 1,000 cars off the road.
• Valcasado Solar Park, Spain: a 22 MW project developed by Elmya in Huelva, bringing clean energy to one of Spain's most arid regions. The site's 33,600 bifacial Trinasolar modules are mounted on 580 Vanguard 1P trackers, which follow the sun's path to maximise output across its gently sloping terrain. Robust construction and durable materials were used throughout to withstand the area's dry, cracked soil, helping the park contribute meaningfully to Spain's renewable energy transition.
• Raba Solar Park, Estonia: one of the country's largest solar installations, developed with Sunly and Metsagrupp in Pärnu County. Its 45.22 MW capacity is powered by more than 68,000 Trinasolar Vertex dual-glass bifacial modules, generating over 47,000 MWh annually, enough to power around 14,000 Estonian households. The project underscores Estonia's commitment to cleaner energy and sets a new regional benchmark for renewable energy production.
