At Barguse Riding Centre in Cornwall, a leading equestrian training venue set across fifty acres of countryside, a rooftop solar and battery storage installation delivered by ZLC Energy is bringing modern, low-carbon energy management to a site with complex operational demands. The centre, which combines professional coaching, horse care, training, and veterinary work, required a system capable of stabilising supply across multiple buildings, supporting a connected residential property, and future-proofing an ageing electrical infrastructure that had long relied on legacy Feed-in Tariff arrangements.
ZLC Energy designed and installed a 24.3 kWp rooftop solar PV system using Trinasolar 450 W Vertex S+ Full Black modules, paired with a 32 kWh battery storage platform. The system provides intelligent load-balancing, smart energy automation, and advanced self-consumption management across the site, maintaining stable power during peak operational periods and reducing reliance on the grid throughout the year. Together, the solar and storage elements are expected to generate 24,300 kWh of clean electricity annually, reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 4,301 kg per year, and deliver energy cost savings of around 20%, with a projected payback period of five years.
Our Vertex S+ Full Black modules were well suited to the practical and aesthetic demands of a rural equestrian site, combining durability and long-term performance with a low-profile finish that sits naturally within the countryside setting. Their reliability underpins a future-ready energy solution that supports both the day-to-day running of the centre and its long-term sustainability goals.
