Trina Storage completes successful large-scale fire test of its Elementa 2 Pro energy storage system

February 26, 2026
Trina Storage has secured over 65 projects in Europe since its first contract was signed in December 2020.

Trina Storage, the global energy storage solutions provider and a business unit of Trinasolar, has reached a major milestone of 6 GWh of BESS orders in Europe, just five years after securing its first contract. This achievement represents a powerful indicator of Trina Storage’s growth, and underlines the rapid progress made since the signing of its first European project – a 50 MWh installation for UK– in December 2020.

Since then, Trina Storage has successfully secured over 65 projects across Europe, including in the UK, Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Romania and Spain. Many of these projects represent repeat collaborations, with customers selecting Trina Storage for multiple sites over time, a clear endorsement of long-term performance and reliability.

Flagship installations include more than 30 projects in the UK, such as Sandon Brook, Burwell, Tiln Farm and Boat of Garten; Strübbel and Wetzen in Germany; Rondissone in Italy; and Amyntaio in Greece. Over this period, Trina Storage has built strong, long-standing partnerships with customers including Low Carbon, Aer Soleir, Clarke Energy, PPC Renewables, Aquila Clean Energy and Stiemo.

Much of this success is driven by Trina Storage’s continuous technology innovation, alongside a strong commitment to execution improvement and customer satisfaction. The company’s integrated approach ensures reliable performance and long-term value across the full project lifecycle.

After first developing the original Elementa system, which initially incorporated external cells, Trina Storage introduced Elementa 2 and Elementa 2 Pro in 2024, a more advanced, efficient system using in-house Trina LFP cells. Building on this foundation, Elementa 3 was launched in 2025, offering greater capacity, improvements in module energy density, and upgraded safety capabilities.

Marking another step forward, in 2025 Trina Storage expanded its portfolio with the launch of Elementa Electra, an AC-coupled BESS solution designed for large-scale storage applications. This addition enables greater control over delivery timelines, seamless integration with Trina Storage’s DC solutions, and a more comprehensive approach to managing the entire project lifecycle, from design through to long-term operation.

Reflecting the success of the last five years, Trina Storage’s European organisation has grown significantly, from an initial team of eight, to more than 65 professionals across Europe. This includes sales and sales engineering, project management and project engineering, and dedicated service teams, all locally and EU-based to ensure close customer engagement and responsive support. The company has also appeared consistently in Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s Tier 1 energy storage supplier rankings, in recognition of its commitment to innovation, high performance and customer satisfaction.

Gabriele Buccini, Head of Trina Storage Europe, said: “Reaching 6 GWh of projects in Europe is testament to the outstanding work of our European team, who have expanded over the years and demonstrated unwavering drive and commitment to secure new orders, deliver projects to customer satisfaction, and ensure as many people as possible benefit from our BESS technology.

“We are proud of our status as technology leaders in the battery storage market, driven by the consistent evolution of our Elementa platform. There is so much more we can achieve in this area too: we look forward to continuing to refine and develop our technology, listening closely and adapting to the needs of customers, and setting a positive example for the wider BESS industry in the coming years.”

Trina Storage has also established a significant global presence, supporting BESS projects across key international markets. By the end of 2025, Trina Storage’s global shipments have exceeded 20 GWh. With a strong local footprint in Europe and an expanding worldwide project portfolio, Trina Storage continues to strengthen its position as a trusted, long-term partner for energy storage solutions globally.
