We established an innovation platform focusing on basic, cutting-edge, and thematic research for the new generation of photovoltaic technology. Key initiatives include:
  • Renewing our collaboration with Fudan University in 2024 to establish a university–industry laboratory for advanced PV technologies
  • Supporting the development of a collaborative innovation community in the Yangtze River Delta region of China
  • Leading research on crystalline silicon tandem (stacked) solar cells

As a pioneer in setting international standards among PV and energy storage enterprises, we lead the industry in valid invention patents and top the Global Perovskite Solar Cell Invention Patent Ranking.
Product Circulation and Recycling
Trinasolar prioritizes recycling and reuse at the end of the product lifecycle. We work closely with partners at all points in the industry chain to:
  • open up a green recycling pathway for the photovoltaic industry
  • promote the establishment of a recycling and reuse system for decommissioned photovoltaic modules
  • explore commercial and large-scale paths for module recycling

We strictly adhere to the European Union (EU)'s strict requirements, such as:
  • Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive)
  • Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH Regulation) and cooperate with international bodies like PV CYCLE to establish a recycling and processing mechanism for photovoltaic modules.

Enhancing Employees’ Intellectual Property Awareness and Capabilities
More than 1,000 Trinasolar employees participated in the IPEnlightenment training aimed at safeguarding the company’s innovation and intellectual property development.
To encourage practical application, more than 100 employees registered for the company's second "Trina Cup" Patent Search Competition, reflecting the significant improvement in intellectual property awareness.

Trinasolar’s Yancheng Base Rated Outstanding In China's Intelligent Manufacturing Scene
In 2023, our Yancheng manufacturing base in China comprehensively improved automation, digitalization and intelligence by implementing:
  • Production execution system (MES)
  • Quality management system (QMS)
  • Production traceability data system
  • Equipment Internet of Things system (RFID)
  • Intelligent hardware, such as automatic guided vehicles (AGV).

These earned the Yancheng base recognition as one of China's outstanding intelligent manufacturing success stories.

The Qinghai factory advances automated, intelligent manufacturing and boosts efficiency through:

The Dingge Awards, jointly initiated by Harvard Business Review, Tsinghua University Global Industry Research Institute and SAP, recognize leaders in digital transformation.
In 2023, Trinasolar received the Production Transformation Model Award for exceptional digital production achievements in the Trina Energy Storage BU New Base Intelligent Manufacturing MES Construction Project.
