Powering Statkraft's New Solar Plants in Spain

Adding to a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar PV power plants across Europe, we have recently supplied 234MW of our high-performance Vertex bifacial modules to Statkraft for the development of four new solar plants in the sunny province of Cádiz in Spain.
As one of Europe's largest generator of renewable energy, Statkraft currently operates more than 500MW of solar power in Spain and remains dedicated to increasing access to clean energy in the region. The addition of these new projects aligns with both companies' mutual objectives of empowering renewable energy growth and minimising carbon emission for the benefit of the region we live in.
The Cádiz Solar Plant Projects
Statkraft has finished construction of four solar photovoltaic plants in the Andalucian province of Cádiz, which boasts one of the sunniest climates in the world. The plants – Arenosas, Malabrigo, El Yarte, and La Guita – have a combined capacity of 234MW and are expected to generate approximately 500GWh of clean energy annually. This renewable energy production will help avoid 80,000 tons of CO2 emissions every year and provide enough solar power to supply 120,000 households.

Financial planning and feasibility
Manufacturers help clients assess the financial viability of their projects. This involves calculating the costs of installation, operation, and maintenance, as well as forecasting energy production and potential revenues. Site assessment and selection
The efficiency and effectiveness of solar power plants depend greatly on their location. Design and architecture

High-Performance Vertex Bifacial Modules
The Vertex bifacial modules were specifically chosen for Stratkraft’s solar plant projects due to their innovative design features and exceptional performance capabilities. Compared to conventional solar panels, our Vertex modules deliver a power output of more than 670W, thanks to the use of 210mm monocrystalline cells and high-density encapsulation technology. Additionally, the outstanding temperature coefficient and low irradiance performance of the Vertex modules result in higher power production.
When used in combination with tracking systems, Vertex panels provide even higher power output. The bifacial modules selected by Statkraft can contribute up to 25% additional yield, owing to the extra power generated from the module's rear side. Furthermore, the Vertex panels can be interconnected on longer strings, enabling up to 41% more string power output.
