Trinasolar maximizes PV asset value with i-TOPCon Ultra modules and smart tracking system

October 23, 2025

Trinasolar's advanced solution, integrating the Vertex N i-TOPCon Ultra modules and the TrinaTracker smart tracking system, generates more power when it's most valuable, enhancing both energy yield and customer value, said Rocky Li, Global Product Manager at Trinasolar, in a webinar themed “Maximizing PV Asset Revenue for high-value energy hours” on October 16.   High solar penetration gives rise to the ‘Duck Curve,’ lowering midday prices and driving up evening rates in market-based electricity system. This market shift demands PV solutions that not only deliver higher total energy but also generate power when it's most valuable. To respond to this evolving electricity value, PV modules need to deliver higher efficiency, better low-irradiance performance, and enhanced bifaciality to capture more low-angle sunlight. Meanwhile, mounting structures must evolve with advanced tracking system and smarter algorithms to flatten and extend generation—boosting both the quantity and quality of solar power.   Trinasolar's integrated solution of i-TOPCon Ultra modules and smart tracking system precisely addresses this need, transforming solar plants into revenue-optimized assets that deliver maximum power during the most valuable hours.   Leveraging 10–15% higher bifaciality, Trinasolar's TOPCon modules improve power generation throughout the day. Thanks to low-irradiance performance, they deliver up to 8.4% higher energy than TBC at 5-7 p.m., capturing more profits during high price hours. On top of that, the AI- and big data-driven SuperTrack algorithm outperforms traditional astronomical tracking by 2–3% in energy gain. Moreover, the intelligent tracking system can flatten and extend the generation curve, ensuring more power exactly when electricity prices peak.   System-level assessment further validates the solution's superior performance. On a fixed-tilt structure, the Vertex N i-TOPCon Ultra 735W module delivers 2.97% higher energy yield and 4.03% more generation during high-price hours compared with TBC 655W modules, while lowering LCOE by 2.9%. When paired with TrinaTracker system, this solution achieves 4.6% higher generation during high-price hours than TBC 655W modules with conventional trackers, adds €383,000 earning per 100 MW capacity according to a simulation conducted in San Nicolas, Spain.

Trinasolar has recently begun the large-scale global rollout of Vertex N i-TOPCon Ultra modules, enabling customers worldwide to unlock greater value from their solar investments. Committed to being a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, Trinasolar will continue to deliver tailored solutions for diverse scenarios, driving the industry towards high-quality, sustainable growth.
