On-Site Witnessing by Leading Fire Engineering Consultancy Hiller Validates Trina Storage’s System-Level Safety
Hiller is a leading fire protection, engineering, and energy safety institution in North America, with extensive experience in NFPA, UL, and other key safety standards, as well as energy storage fire risk assessment and engineering safety. During the test, Hiller's SME (Subject Matter Expert) fully witnessed and supervised the experiment on-site, pushing it to more stringent conditions while maintaining high-standard execution, and recorded critical data to ensure the experiment was complete, transparent, and fully traceable.
The large-scale fire test was conducted in accordance with the latest international standards NFPA 855:2026 & UL 9540A:2025-11, under conditions exceeding standard requirements. The experiment was successfully completed: the Initiation container remained structurally intact under intense fire, with no collapse observed; adjacent containers showed no thermal propagation. Monitoring data indicated that cell temperatures reached a maximum of 43.9°C in back-to-back containers and 23.9°C in side-by-side containers, both far beneath the cell venting point.
Paul Hayes, Vice President of Energy Infrastructure and senior fire protection engineer at Hiller, commented that Trina Storage's stable and reliable system performance in this test reflects its professionalism in energy storage safety engineering. Hiller will conduct a comprehensive and impartial analysis of all recorded data and produce an independent evaluation report, providing valuable reference for the industry.
By actively involving a globally recognized fire safety authority in the large-scale fire test, Trina Storage not only completed a high-intensity, system-level safety validation, but also advanced transparency and rigor in energy storage safety verification. Moving forward, Trina Storage will continue to refine its products to even higher standards and work with global professional institutions and industry partners to promote a safer and more reliable energy storage industry.
