Trina Storage Strengthens Its Global Energy Storage Portfolio with 1.203GWh of New BESS Contracts in Latin America

January 22, 2026
January 2025 – Trina Storage, a global provider of utility-scale energy storage solutions, has recently announced significant business progress in the Latin American market, signing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) supply contracts totaling 1.203GWh with T-Power—the renewable energy platform of Toesca Asset Management—and YPF Luz, one of Argentina's leading power generation companies. The newly signed contracts further strengthen Trina Storage's presence in Latin America and reinforce its position as a strategic partner for large-scale BESS deployments across the region.

The 1,203MWh of new contracts add to the 1.2GWh of BESS systems already delivered by Trina Storage in Latin America in 2025, alongside additional projects under contract, forming a regional portfolio of several gigawatt-hours across projects under execution and in an advanced pipeline. Supported by a growing global delivery footprint and a consistent track record in project execution, Trina Storage was ranked 8th globally in S&P Global Energy's 2025 Energy Storage System Integrator Report, and placed among the top 10 integrators across multiple international markets including Europe, the Middle East & Africa (MEA), Australia, and other major markets worldwide.

Across these projects, Trina Storage delivers a comprehensive scope of supply, including battery systems, power conversion systems (PCS), medium-voltage equipment, and SCADA systems, providing fully integrated energy storage solutions designed for safe, efficient, and reliable integration into utility-scale power systems.

In Chile, Trina Storage is partnering with T-Power on the Luz del Norte energy storage project in Copiapó, Atacama Region. The 141MW / 722MWh system is designed to enhance the operational efficiency of the associated photovoltaic plant by reducing solar curtailment and enabling time-shifted delivery of clean electricity. The project supports the optimization of existing renewable assets while demonstrating Trina Storage's ability to deliver value in complex, high-demand energy environments.

In Argentina, Trina Storage has signed an agreement with Central Dock Sud S.A., a subsidiary of YPF Luz, for the Alma Sur project, a key component of the ALMA GBA program, one of the most significant energy storage tender programs in Argentina and South America. The 90MW / 481MWh system is designed to address seasonal capacity shortages in the Province of Buenos Aires, strengthening grid resilience and supply reliability. The project further extends Trinasolar's long-standing presence in Argentina, expanding from photovoltaic modules and tracking systems into large-scale energy storage and highlighting the group's integrated solar-plus-storage capabilities.

“2025 has been a defining year for Trina Storage in Latin America—not only because of the volumes delivered and contracted, but also due to the quality and strategic relevance of the partners who have placed their trust in us,” said Vicente Walker, Head of Trina Storage LATAM. “Throughout the year, leading companies such as CIP, Atlas Renewable Energy, T-Power, and YPF Luz, among others, have selected Trina Storage for the development of their BESS projects across the region.”

Through these projects, Trina Storage continues to expand its presence in strategic international markets, reinforcing its position as a trusted technology partner for investors, utilities, and developers advancing large-scale energy storage deployment worldwide.
