Community Engagement on Water
Trinasolar is committed to sustainable development and integrates responsible water stewardship with community well-being throughout its production and operation. Focusing on priorities such as sustainable water use, water efficiency improvement, and safeguarding community water security, the Company has established a comprehensive water management system that covers both its operations and around broader value chain.
While advancing green manufacturing and continuously improving water efficiency, Trinasolar conducts its water management in alignment with the principle of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The Company actively considers the potential impacts of its operational activities on surrounding communities and works to safeguard community access to safe and reliable water through targeted infrastructure improvements and technological optimisation. Through these efforts, the Company actively fulfills its corporate social responsibility and promotes mutually benefits between the enterprise and the communities.
During periods of peak water demand, the industrial water withdrawal may place pressure on the domestic water supply of surrounding communities. To mitigate this potential impact, Trinasolar optimised its water supply system and constructed dedicated water storage facilities for production. The replenishment approach was transitioned from instantaneous high-volume intake to a constant-pressure, constant-flow supply system, significantly reducing pressure fluctuations within the municipal water distribution network.
Highlights:
1）Water withdrawal decreased by approximately 40%, helping maintain stable pressure in the municipal water distribution network.
2）Water pressure in surrounding communities increased and stabilized at above 1.5 kg/cm2, effectively ensuring the reliability of domestic water supply.
3）The operational stability of the regional water supply system was improved, enabling better coordination between industrial water consumption and domestic water demand.
Trinasolar will continue to pursue Water Positive, explore diversified water replenishment initiatives such as water collection and storage, water recycling and reuse, and ecological restoration. The Company will further strengthen the synergy between its operations and the regional water environment while continuously enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of its water management.
